XC Rd 8 Short track race report & results

Rain kept a lot of riders away yesterday but those who did come kept the heat on for all 3 races of the short track format. The longest lap was around 3.4Km keeping each of the 3 races short and sweet.

In A-Grade Justin Millington relied heavily on his road racing tactics by sitting on Liam Flanagan’s wheel for all but the last half a kilometre. Not to be out-foxed, Liam got the better of Justin in race 3 for a well deserved win.

The B-Grade field did well to minimise the gap to first but Shane Gillett continues to be unstoppable especially over the shorter distances. The punters also welcomed 2 new faces of Andrew Stockwell and Matt Christie, well done and hope to see you again soon lads.

C and D Grades were combined so everyone could keep one another company and it also proved for some close racing. Commiserations to Peter Cullen with a broken rear derailleur denying him a clean sweep and congratulations to Paris Millington for taking advantage of the opening and beating Cameron Gilchrist home on Race 3.

Next Race is GE Rd 6 11 October. Hope to see you there.

We believe in building a community with our club. A community that caters for the differing needs, abilities and wants of our members. The way we provide for our members is through organised and well run events on a regular basis for all riding types and include all fitness and skill levels. We contribute to the community by our inclusion of those who do not wish to race with social rides which promote the varied riding trails available on the Central Coast along with youth development, skills coaching and trail advocacy.
