Races will start with fastest riders and be self seeded.
ONLINE ENTRY ONLY! *There is NO on the day rego.
We have limited timing chips so avoid disappointment and register asap! Entries close 3/8/19 at 7pm unless sold out prior.
The event will be timed, recorded, displayed and publicised by CCMTB using the Sportident AIR+ package product.
Competitors will collect race plates and timing chips between 730 and 830 am Sunday morning.
The timing chips must be returned on conclusion of your last race run so the results can be uploaded to the live platform.
If you lose your timing chip you will have no race results. You must find the chip immediately! There is no point continuing your race or practice run. There are no replacements. Advise a marshall ASAP who will help you look for it. If you fail to return your timing chip you will be responsible for its replacement at $100/chip.
Race plates are collectables and not part of the official timing system.
If you require first aid assistance then see your nearest marshall who will contact the first aid team.
Full face helmet is mandatory (no removable chin bar helmets allowed).
U17 and younger categories also must wear knee and elbow guards as well as full finger gloves.
We further recommend neck and back protection.
Body armour is recommended.
We would recommend a dual suspension bike with around 140mm+ travel.
Due to the nature of Ourimbah DH trail it is mostly ridden using enduro / all mountain style bikes with around 150+mm travel. The more travel the more forgiving the bike with the tradeoff of its harder to pedal and probably heavier and less agile to maneuver. Wheel size can make a difference also, however, either 27.5 or 29er is suitable, both having advantages and disadvantages.
All Junior and especially Under 15/13 riders are expected to have at least sighted the DH trail on the mountain and be riding appropriate bikes for the terrain. We recommend riding our trails in the weeks leading up to your first race. Under 13 yo who have not sighted the trails MUST ride with a parent or guardian.
